I have chosen DCLead because: Digital communication and technologies have shown the great positive impact they can have, the recent pandemic proved it. However, there is still an open question on digital ethics: anonymity, truthfulness, and interference are still to be addressed and discussed in an open and responsible approach that guarantees individual liberty, but at the same time protects our society and collective well-being. I am confident that this program will give me a new set of knowledge and skills to address these issues and generate positive impact in my community.

I have chosen DCLead because: Working as Teaching assistant and web developer over the years has made me realised the need for an all rounded skills in the field of the Technology, That was why I chose DCLead. DCLead gives you a comprehensive and integrated knowledge and skills from problem based learning, to critical thinking approaches and ethical use of Technology, to political and business aspect of technology. which will help shape and also informed a good decision making process for the future of Technology all from an International point of view.

I have chosen DCLead because: DCLead’s EMJMD program is mobile and places its multinational students in different countries, hence it is concurrently a catalyst and host to a collection of cultures, of which I am both a proponent and a beneficiary. Besides, I am passionate about humanitarianism; I am also fascinated by tech innovations and our sociopolitical landscape. This program’s versatility offers an avenue for me to materialize my eclectic interests into research and, eventually, action.

I have chosen DCLead because: As an anthropologist, I am passionate about learning how people interact with each other. I am particularly interested in knowing their collective needs, fears, and shared world visions. In recent years, I have focused my research interests on the effects of new digital technologies in peoples’ daily lives. Furthermore, the master’s courses offers the best environment for my personal growth and the opportunity to share my experience with professionals from different backgrounds.

I have chosen DCLead because:
If we are to sustain open societies, there is an increasing need for systems that help us understand and process information that is constantly in formation. Software is now both policy and politics. It is to this shifting, generative world of data as soft power that DCLead speaks. I’m profoundly interested in how media institutions and infrastructures contribute to various types of order—social, cultural, political, economic and ethical. What is media’s role in shaping a new global communication order? How can communication rights and technologies be used to address social and digital inequalities? This is the work that I look forward to advancing in the context of my learning at DCLead.

I have chosen DCLead because:
In a world mixed with cultures, languages, genders… – we are told to focus on self development rather than the big picture. But as a community of 7.8 Billion people it is crucial to also focus on our diversity and what we can do to provide a united environment for new generations to grow up in. DCLead gives us the opportunity to meet people from around the world, to study cultures and experience diversity of any kind. As curious students we come together with one goal: To shape our future.

DCLead is a platform where potential future world leaders are shaped together. We are exposed to people from different cultures, countries, attitudes and viewpoints. For me, who wants to be an entrepreneur, this sounded like the perfect place to make connections that will last for lifetime. All the tracks are designed such that they together complete a product, organization or a company. It’s a course which blends Leadership along with Digital Communication which I find exceptionally booming.

The interdisciplinary approach of DCLead amalgamates different aspects of media and communication with technology and policy design. The inevitable prospects of digital communication, the diverse background of students and it’s inclusiveness propelled me to apply for DCLead. I think the collaboration of DCLead with top-notch academic and industry partners would facilitate me to think innovatively about critical insights of digital communication and to get profound knowledge of new media, technology and society that will ameliorate my skills to be a well-rounded professional in the field of digital communication.

I want to be able to impact society by using technology. I think this program is the perfect opportunity for me to thrive forward to a more fulfilling career in my chosen field of study.

In a time with unforeseen circumstances such as the pandemic, communicating effectively through digital takes center stage. As a Filipino leader, I am committed to co-design development-oriented programs for vulnerable communities in my country. I believe DCLead is a golden opportunity. With the collaborative and ethical environment at DCLead, I hope to master ICT4D to engage more efficiently with the people, understand their stories deeper, and contribute to building bridges for marginalized communities facing this crisis.
