It is to this shifting, generative world of data as soft power that DCLead speaks. I’m profoundly interested in how media institutions and infrastructures contribute to various types of order—social, cultural, political, economic and ethical. What is media’s role in shaping a new global communication order? How can communication rights and technologies be used to address social and digital inequalities? This is the work that I look forward to advancing in the context of my learning at DCLead.

But as a community of 7.8 Billion people it is crucial to also focus on our diversity and what we can do to provide a united environment for new generations to grow up in. DCLead gives us the opportunity to meet people from around the world, to study cultures and experience diversity of any kind. As curious students we come together with one goal: To shape our future.

I have chosen DCLead because:If not DCLead, then what? I feel this program has been my calling, and I couldn’t be happier to have been selected. My experience in digital advocacy, gender parity, and social issues like mental health & women empowerment have made me realize that there is nothing more important than the right digital communication strategy to achieve our goals in modern times. Having taught Digital Skills to women entrepreneurs from underprivileged communities UN Women & JICA has opened my eyes to how anything we want to be noticed in the world has to have perfect synergy with the ever-changing digital landscape.
Thus, DCLead felt like the most natural option to pursue my Master’s in. The program is the perfect marriage between digital communication and what it takes to be the right leader. The policy and innovation track is just what I wanted to hone in on my advocacy and lobbying experience in the mental health sector. I am sure DCLead is going to be the perfect inter-disciplinary program to help me make sure my voice is not only heard but registered!
